9200kVA 22kV Rectifier Transformer Case for Morocco Chemical Electrolysis-to-Hydrogen Workshop

This project supplies 5 sets of 9200kVA 22kV oil-immersed rectifier transformers to a chemical enterprise in Morocco. All units are manufactured and tested in compliance with the IEC 60076 international power transformer standard. They serve as the core power supply of the electrolysis-to-hydrogen production workshop, delivering stable DC power to the hydrogen-making electrolytic cells.

Customer Challenge: Rectifier Transformer Burnout

Before cooperating with us, the customer suffered severe equipment failure. Their original rectifier transformer burned out frequently because of excessive low-side current under the harsh working condition of electrolysis. The repeated breakdowns caused heavy production loss and high maintenance cost on the hydrogen-making line. The customer needed a reliable customized transformer solution that would remove the over-current burnout risk at its source.

Our Solution: Disc-Type Winding Rectifier Transformer

According to the actual site operating condition, our engineering team adopted a professional disc-type winding design. This structure greatly enhances short-circuit withstand capability and anti-shock performance, so the transformer can effectively resist the impact current generated during the electrolysis process. It solves the core pain point of low-side over-current burnout at the design stage.

Production and Factory Testing to IEC 60076

The whole production cycle was 2 months. Before delivery, every unit passed strict factory tests, including partial discharge, short-circuit impedance and temperature rise tests. All technical indicators meet IEC 60076 requirements.

Stable Operation in Heavy-Load Electrolysis

After on-site commissioning in Morocco, the rectifier transformers run continuously and stably in the heavy-load chemical electrolysis environment. The customer can now carry out safe and high-efficiency green hydrogen production without the repeated burnout and downtime of the past.
